Title: mybodysinotmybody
Medium: Digital Illustration
Description: mybodysinotmybody illustrates a woman’s nude body as a sketched digital illustration. While the body is somewhat realistic in its proportions, it is outlined and shaded in blue to reference the blue light of digital screens . The head is left out of the image altogether. The background displays the statement “my body is not my body” over and over again, answering the question: what is the disconnect between our bodies and the representations of our bodies in the digital world, and which, the body or the representation, do we own?
Title: Self Portrait
Medium: Digital Illustration
Description: Intended to play on a loop, Self Portrait depicts a blurry sketch of my body that disappears over time. Each image becomes more and more mechanical and abstract, illustrating the impression of a body being sucked into the digital world until it is barely recognizable as human. Despite this, the image continues to repeat itself, mirroring the redundant effect of individuals on the internet that continue to revisit their manicured version of self over and over again.
